The Lowdown

This year’s Championships League has already produced some memorable moments. The 8-4 thriller in Dortmund. Leicester winning the group with a game left. Spurs resting players so they could concentrate on securing a place in the...Champions League places.

Now, we have reached the last sixteen, with some mouthwatering fixtures ahead:

Man City vs Monaco

Real Madrid vs Napoli

Benfica vs Dortmund

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal

FC Porto vs Juventus

Bayer Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid

Paris St-Germain vs Barcelona

Sevilla vs Leicester

Who will be pleased?

Undoubtedly, Manchester City will be relatively happy being drawn against Monaco. Despite the French club topping their respective group, Pep’s men will fancy their chances. Real and neighbours Atletico should also be content.

Who will be calling for a redraw?

For sure, the standout fixture pits Arsenal vs Bayern Munich yet again. You could almost hear Arsene Wenger claiming , ‘I did not see it’ as the Gunners pulled the 2013 champions for the 4th time since 2005.

Who are the dark horses?

Dortmund look very handy in Europe this year so are worth keeping an eye on. Maybe Leicester will thrive in their role as underdogs? One thing is for sure, you won’t find 5,000/1 on them going all the way!

So who goes through?

Some tough ties but my last eight are:

Man City - Monaco won’t be strong enough to keep Aguero and co quiet.

Barcelona - A tough draw but when can you ever bet against Barca.

Dortmund - Expect the most goals to come in this tie, but the German's to qualify.

Bayern Munich - Sorry Arsenal fans but expect your defensive frailties to be exposed.

Real Madrid - The Galacticos will face a tricky test in Naples, but will ease through.

Atletico Madrid - Cannot see Simeone’s boys slipping up in either leg.

Juventus - Enough European guile to overcome a difficult opponent.

Leicester - A toss up but I’ll go for the fairytale to continue-after extra time!

Do you agree? Or can you see the Gunners firing or Napoli doing an Italian job on Real?

We want to hear your thoughts. Let us know who you think will progress!
